Whitney Houston is undeniably one of the best singers of all time with a vocal range that left many in utter amazement. But it was just this voice that let her down in London Sunday night, the latest in a string of concerts during which the 46-year-old has made a spectacle of herself.
Years of drug abuse have clearly had a harrowing effect on Whitney’s voice, something even her fans are beginning to realize., as hundreds reportedly walked out on her show. USA Today quotes one concert-goer, saying it was “rubbish”, complaining that she can’t even complete one song.

Her hugely announced comeback on this ‘Nothing But Love’ tour, after years of a troubled marriage to Bobby Brown and excessive drug use, has all but flopped.
Whitney even apologized to her fans at the concert for her way under par performance, saying: “She don’t want to come, my soprano friend. Sometimes the old girl sings, but not tonight. I want to do it, but she doesn’t want to… She’s getting a little… temperamental, even.”
A temperamental voice? Unlikely, as where many are concerned, there is hardly a voice left to speak of.
We refer to one of our recent articles: If you have to apologize to your fans for doing a bad job singing, it’s time to pack up. Even more so when a Taiwanese casting show contestant, namely the popular Lin Yu Chun, can sing your flagship song better than you can now.
Whitney, those years were tough on you, and have ravaged your voice. Maybe it really is time to say goodbye to a once-stellar career.
