Tiger Woods’ sex addiction leads to divorce

The writing has been on the wall, but now it is official: after speculations for months, Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren are divorcing.

The pair’s marital problems became public when Tiger crashed his car in his Florida driveway on Thanksgiving last year and it was reported that Elin smashed his car’s window with a golf club. Public declarations of alleged love affairs from countless women ensued, and it soon became known that Tiger had had a staggering 14 women.
It was reported the couple were trying to give their marriage another shot, and Tiger even entered a rehabilitation facility to seek treatment for his addiction to sex. The shocking news of his numerous affairs were too heavy, and proved to be the death sentence for the pair’s six-year marriage.

According to Guardian.co.uk, the pair released the following statement.

“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.

“Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”

34-year-old Tiger, once the most marketable athlete in the world, and his Swedish wife Elin will reportedly share custody of their children Sam, three, and Charlie, one.
