Sharon Stone, the actress most famous for her flash scene in ‘Basic Instinct’, has admitted to having suffered two miscarriages. The star said in an interview that she adopted after losing two children, a time she called “unbearable”.
“I had two pregnancies that I lost in the late fifth month,” she said. “And this is so awful because I had to go have surgery when my children died. This is a trauma that you just cannot bear.”
The trauma of losing her two children during pregnancy is what she says caused her to make what has been labelled as insensitive comments. In 2008, following the Sichuan earthquake which saw the death toll reach 70,000, with an estimated 18,000 missing, Stone said the quake was “karma” for how the China has treated Tibet.
In an interview with Prestige magazine, Stone said: “I was in some kind of crazyville. The horrific loss of those people’s children caused me tremendous grief. I was relating to this earthquake like some kind of crazy mother.
The 51-year-old has since adopted three sons – Quinn, Roan and Laird.
