Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney revealed on Piers Morgan’s show that marriage is not his cup of tea. How is his girlfriend and Italian model Elisabetta Canalis digesting the idea that she is dating an eternal bachelor?
Thw award-winning actor told Piers that he’s been there and done that, referring to his four-year marriage with Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.
“I hate to blow your whole news story,” the 49-year-old star said. “But I was married, so I gave it a shot.”
“One attempt at married life ought to have proven how good I was at it,” Clooney insisted.
Also on CNN’s friday night show was Clooney’s father, Nick, who is an old hand at married life: He tied the knot with George’s mother five decades ago, and the couple renewed their wedding vows in 2007.
When Piers asked Nick whether he was “yearning for the moment” he son would walk down the aisle, he replied: “I want you to think about that. I want you to think about – we’ve been married – Nina and I have been married 51 years.”
Despite there not necessarily being an exchange of rings to look forward to, 32-year-old Canalis seems more than happy with George. In an interview with Italian Vanity Fair magazine last year, the stunner said: “George reassures me all the time. He is very close. I feel more embraced than ever before. The idea of being so loved is overwhelming. George has given colour back to my life.”
So there you go ladies — there may be no wedding bells sounding off any time in the near future, but he is a taken man.
