Some call it karma, some call it bad luck, but whatever the case it’s been a bad few months for OJ Simpson. The former NFL star, turned comedy actor, turned alleged but acquitted murderer has been beaten up in prison if rumours are to be believed.
Sources within the Nevada Lovelock Correctional Center are denying all knowledge of any violent incidents involving Simpson, but according to a report by the National Enquirer he was subject to a beating by a gang of skinheads following a discussion in which he bragged about sleeping with white women.
Controversy is never far away from the much maligned celebrity, and truth is an even foggier commodity where he is concerned.
The Enquirer’s article states that he was brutally attacked in the yard and as a result had to spend three weeks in the infirmary. They also say he is too scared to leave his cell without protection.
Simpson is serving a total of nine years for the Memorabilia Robberies but has kept in touch with Bruce Fromong, a victim of the robberies who was held at gunpoint.
Fromong insists there are no hard feelings towards Simpson as declared during the trial, and he said that OJ is suffering from deep depression and is scared that he might not make it out of there alive.
[adsense]The allegations have been vehemently denied the Nevada corrections officials and Kevin Ingram, spokesman for the facility said that Simpson was “just fine.”
The Enquirer’s article mentioned that onlooking inmates cheered as a young man in his mid 20’s beat the 63 year old Simpson unconscious. That said, prison is about paying for your crimes and it seems that OJ Simpson was always destined to end up in the slammer one way or another.
Further denials have since emerged from Simpson himself who apparently “laughed his ass off” when told by TMZ about the Enquirer’s story.
Will the truth about OJ Simpson’s life ever come out, or will it always remain buried? Let us know by leaving a comment.
