Star of How I Met Your Mother Neil Patrick Harris is today the proud father of twins. The television idol announced on Twitter that he and partner David Burtka’s surrogate twins arrived with them on October 12th.
“Babies!!” Harris tweeted. “On 10/12, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace entered the Burtka-Harris fold. All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey.”
This is not the first time Harris has used Twitter to announce the arrival of a baby. In August, he tweeted “We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled.” that he and Burtka would be expecting twins in the fall.
An on the subject of firsts, in August, Harris won his first ever Emmy awards for guest-starring on “Glee” and hosting “The 63rd Annual Tony Awards”.
The 37 year old’s career began as a child actor in the title role of Doogie Howser M.D., which followed the life of a brilliant minded child doctor. He later went on to star in Starship Troopers as a psychic.
He also took the lead role in Joss Whedon’s musical web series Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog which was an exclusive-for-internet distribution that told the comically tragic story of an aspiring supervillain, his nemesis Captain Hammer and their squabbles over a shared love interest.
Last week, it was announced the actor would make his feature directorial debut on the romantic comedy, “Aaron and Sarah”.
