From an actress to the First Lady of the United States of America, she transitioned beautifully into the varied roles. Establishing trends, openly and actively supporting causes and standing strong in the face of challenges, Nancy Reagan was always in the news. including the renovation of the white house, elegant fashion and incredible grace. She has been a great influence on Ronald Reagan and through her indomitable spirit played a vital role in shaping his life.
A fantastic communicator and a great actress, Nancy Reagon championed the ‘Just Say No’ drug awareness campaign in 1982. She has been a part of many social campaigns including unemployment, poverty and family dissolution. In early 1989, after the end of Reagan’s presidency, she formed the Nancy Reagan foundation to educate people about the ill-effects of consuming drugs.
After ex-President Ronald Reagan passed away in 2004 after living with Alzheimer’s disease for 10 years, she carried his vision forward with immense pride and fortitude. Of late Nancy Reagan’s health has always been an area of concern and even though she
may seem dogged down by the various ailments that plague her she still constantly aids others in their time of need and at 88 still bears with her the same tenacity to work for the society.
