Just a day after reports claimed the FBI were investigating Lindsay Lohan’s stalker, news is emerging today that the troubled film star is facing yet more trouble at her rehab centre.
Lohan now finds herself at the centre of a criminal battery case after it was alleged that she had an altercation with a female member of staff at the Betty Ford Center. The problems started when she returned to her sober living quarters 10 minutes after curfew.
Lohan, 24, is now under investigation by the Palm Desert Police Department, but the incident which occurred on 12th December is being written up as “hand to hand battery” and the as yet unnamed staff member is the victim.
Lohan has countered the accusations by saying that the worker put her hands on her, and was over zealous in shouting unfairly at her for breaking her curfew. She insists that her actions were only in retaliation to the threat posed by the worker.
The argument intensified and Lohan apparently told the worker, “Take your hands off of me” before trying to push her away.
The staff member is reported as wanting Lohan to face prosecution on battery charges. Once the investigation is concluded, prosecutors will review the evidence and decide whether to formally press charges or not.
Lohan, is still on probation after her arrest in 2007, and could be facing a six month jail sentence if found guilty.
Lohan’s father, Michael, said his daughter was subjected to a drug and alcohol test following the incident and passed.
“It’s important to note that Lindsay’s sobriety has not been affected in any way and her resolve to beat her addictions is stronger than ever,” and added, “If she had violated any rule, in any way, she wouldn’t be getting out on January 3rd nor would she have a spotless record at the Betty Ford Center.”
Is Lohan still not taking responsibility for her own actions or is she being victimised? Let us know by leaving a comment.
