Lady Gaga had fans worldwide worried following her odd behaviour during a concert at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. The pop diva raised concern after she dropped to the floor and removed her head gear. According to on-lookers, Gaga looked exhausted and on the verge of collapse.
The Press Association reported that the singer was overcome by heat and dehydration at the end of her 2 and a half hour set, which involved changing costumes 16 times. Gaga reportedly crawled around on stage to the music and finally finished her song lying down.
According to People, the star later gave an interview on Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O, saying: I was so jet lagged… I passed out about three times on stage that night but I got myself to the floor,“ adding, rather melodramatically, “I’d rather die on stage than walk off because I was going to pass out.“
Back in January, Lady Gaga had to cancel several shows due to exhaustion. Fans waited for the performer at a sold-out concert in West Lafayette, India, when Gaga experienced breathing problems back-stage and was forced to cancel, CBC reported.
According to the news provider, the 23-year-old later expressed her condolences on her Twitter page, saying: “Can’t apologize enough for how sorry I am…I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go onstage.“
The star reportedly said doctors feared for her health due to her collapse from exhaustion and dehydration just an hour previously and her irregular heart beat diagnosis, adding:
“I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat: I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort … I hope you can forgive me. I love my (fans) more than anything, you are everything to me.“
Another singer who has recently collapsed on-stage is Madonna.
