Gwyneth Paltrow shuns macrobiotic diet in favor of deep fried food

The health conscious star, famous not only for acting abilities but also for following strict diets and punishing exercise regimes, came out with a bit of a shocker when she told TBS talkshow host Conan O’Brien about her lustings for deep fried food.

Gwyneth, the same Gwyneth who for years adhered to a strict macrobiotic diet — which shuns dairy products and refined products in favor of vegetables, grains, soup and fish —  and reportedly puts in three hours of exercise a day, starting off with a yoga routine at 4.30 am?

Apparently so.

The super toned and radiant looking actress confessed to Conan O’Brien that she has a deep fat fryer in her kitchen at home, and if her words are anything to go by it isn’t sitting neglected in a dark corner collecting dust: “I deep fry a lot of French fries, the good style, like double fried.”

“Fried zucchini, I make fish fingers for the kids, fried chicken.

“Fried food is my weakness. I don’t have a sweet tooth.

“You could fry a cockroach in batter and basically I’d eat it.”

One glance at Gwyneth and its clear to see that she hasn’t let herself go, but it’s good to hear that she allows herself the occasional grease-laden treat. Does this also mean she’s ditched her macribiotic diet?

The mother of two, 37, received a nasty shock earlier this year when a scan revealed that she is suffering from osteopenia, a condition which can lead to brittle bone disease osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis can be caused by a lack of calcium and too much exercise — perhaps her extreme practices finally caught up to her and she has since reevaluated her dietary choices.
