Hypnotism is an excellent way to end the smoking habit. Hypnosis works in that it makes an individual want to quit smoking on a subconscious level.  Other celebrities who have used hypnosis to quit smoking include Academy Award winner Matt Damon, TV show host Ellen DeGeneres and Drew Barrymore. Debra too succeeded in quitting smoking with the help of hypnosis.

Debra, best known for her role as Grace Adler in the sitcom ‘Will & Grace’ had a nasty battle with bronchitis. This led to her doctor giving her strict warning never to touch the cancer sticks again.

According to FOX news, the actress revealed: “My doctor sat me down and said, ‘You’re quitting smoking today, period. If you have another cigarette, you’ll be in intensive care.” After the wake-up call from her doctor, Debra Messing decided to kick the habit once and for all.

Thus, she enlisted the help of hypnosis to become free of smoking.

In an interview with The Washington Post in 1999, Messing said that she is doing fine after quitting cigarettes. She also admitted that she had to go through “hell” in the first week but received extensive support from her family, friends and colleagues.

Messing was so relieved and delighted after becoming a reformed smoker that she even wanted television to campaign to the public about the benefits of quitting smoking.

With great determination and will power she set herself as a role model for those people who desire to get rid of their nasty addiction.
