Actress Rachel Weisz and Director Darren Aronofsky, who have a four-year-old son Henry, called it quits on their nine-year relationship several months ago, their reps have confirmed.
A spokesperson told gossip website TMZ: “Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky have been separated for some months. They remain close friends and are committed to raising their son together in New York City.” They will apparently seek joint custody of their little boy.
Since becoming parents, the couple have always made an effort to makes decisions as a family and spend as much time together as possible. They worked together on the 2006 movie The Fountainhead and last year, while the 40-year-old actress was filming in Malta for a few months, Henry came along and Aronofsky joined them as well, editing his film The Wrestler which he had just recently finished shooting. They were also planning to work together on Jackie, a bipoic of Jackie Kennedy.
Just a little over a year ago, when asked in an interview for Redbook magazine’s December issue whether they would ever tie the knot, Rachel said: “We are engaged, and Darren and I are completely committed to ‘until death do us part,’ although we haven’t made it official with the paperwork yet. It’s not for any political reason or that we’re waiting for this or for that, but maybe one day we will have an official ceremony.”
Now TMZ is reporting, however, that Rachel and James Bond star Daniel Craig may have developed some strong feelings for one another when they worked together on the movie Dream House earlier this year.
How quickly things can change.
