David Nelson dies of colon cancer

The actor David Nelson has died aged 74, after complications related to colon cancer. He passed away on Monday January 10th at his home in LA having suffered with the disease for some time.

Nelson will be remembered for his  long-term part on his parent’s hit TV show The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, the show that pioneered reality TV as we know it today. He was the last remaining member of the popular real-life TV family show which was aired on US television between 1952 and 1966. Nelson convinced his parents to let him take part in the show and was joined by his brother Ricky who later became a teen idol.

David Nelson had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and throughout his career appeared in Peyton Place,The Big Circus, and Love and Kisses.

The actor leaves behind his wife, Yvonne; as well as five children.
