U2 singer Bono is currently recovering in a Munich, Germany, hospital after having an emergency operation. Bono had surgery on his back following an injury he sustained during rehearsals for U2’s new tour.
The 50-year-old singer remains in the Munich hospital following the surgery, and is under treatment of Prof. Dr. Joerg Tonn and Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt, MTV.com reports.
A statement was released on the band’s website reading: “Bono has today undergone emergency back surgery for an injury sustained during tour preparation training. He was admitted to a specialist neuro surgery unit in a Munich hospital … Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home to recuperate. Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates.”
