Broadcast journalist Barbara Walters is doing splendidly in a hospital following her heart valve replacement surgery. The 80-year-old is reportedly “recovering as expected”, RadarOnline.com reports.
A representative said that the “surgery went well and the doctors are very pleased with the outcome. Miss Walters is recovering as expected”.
Barbara Walters is set to recover for the next few months, but is expected to return to ‘The View’ in September. She had announced on the show last week that she was to undergo the operation.
Celebrities who have heart problems include Jennie Garth, Robin Williams, Bill Clintonand Elizabeth Taylor.
